More Project 21 Opinion on Supreme Court Gun Decision

Geoff Moore, a Project 21 member from the Chicago area, weighs in on the McDonald v. Chicago ruling, announced yesterday by the U.S. Supreme Court, that upholds the right for Americans to own guns for self-defense purposes.  The case was based on gun bans in Chicago and the nearby suburb of Oak Park.

Geoff commented:

I commend the Supreme Court on getting this decision right.  These cities overstepped constitutional authority when implementing gun bans.  Additionally, these bans are unfair to the most vulnerable citizens — people who live in violent neighborhoods where police cannot adequately protect them.

Project 21, a black leadership network, is a program of the National Center for Public Policy Research.
