Dr. Tom Borelli of the National Center’s Free Enterprise Project will be discussing the National Center’s shareholder resolution to be presented at the General Electric annual meeting during a Friday interview with S.E. Cupp.

The Cupp interview will be available on Glenn Beck’s Insider Extreme web site at approximately 1:20 PM on Friday, April 22.

S.E. Cupp’s segments are available by clicking here.

The National Center’s shareholder proposal will be formally announced at the General Electric’s annual meeting on April 27 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  It can be read now by clicking here.  The proposal asks the General Electric management to disclose the business risk to the company from changes in the scientific, legislative and political landscape regarding developments in climate change.  General Electric lawyers tried to block the proposal on the grounds that a report disclosing such risks was part of ordinary business operations, but this move was overridden in a decision made by staff members of the federal Securities and Exchange Commission.

In a press release, Tom said about the proposal: “Investors must be made aware of the significant business risk associated with GE’s gambit to profit from climate change fears.  To date, GE CEO Jeff Immelt has failed to inform investors that demand for the company’s renewable energy products is subjected to a host of political and scientific risks.”
